Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi celebrated the Global Confucius Institute open Day.

On September 27, the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi in Kenya was very busy with Chinese cultural activities which were under way. Confucius Institute teachers celebrated the Global Confucius Institute Open Day with a series of cultural activities.

The student choir of Confucius Institute opened the activities with a beautiful song " Jambo". According to most Kenyan students that were in attendance, this open day has set up links such as learning Chinese songs, tai chi experience, paper cutting, and learning Chinese language.The event attracted more than 100 students.

Students from State House Girls High School, came to Confucius Institute for the first time to participate and experience Chinese cultural activities.

PROF Isaac Mbeche, Deputy vice Chancellor at the University of Nairobi said that since its inception, the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi has taken its own unique development path. These activities provide Kenyan youths with an opportunity to learn more about China ,he expressed his hope that the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi can become a cultural station along " the belt and road initiative" line and promote the development of Kenya - China friendship.
