Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi Held Graduation of Short-term Chinese Training Course for Diplomats

On March 5th, Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi held graduation of short-term Chinese training course Diplomats.  Prof Xiao Shan, Director of CIUON, Dr. Calleb O. Ongoma, Deputy Director Foreign Service Academy attended the graduation.

At the beginning, Robert Kemboi the monitor and valedictorian took the floor.They said that this month's study, for them is a process from scratch, just a month, they harvest a lot, also decided to continue to learn Chinese. 

 Prof. Xiao Shan, Director Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi, Dr. Calleb O. Ongoma, Deputy Director Foreign Service Academy  gave welcoming remarks. Xiao congratulated the diplomats on their graduation and expressed her thanks to Kenya government, Chinese Embassy, KSG  and University of Nairobi for all their support all through the program. Dr. Ongoma also congratulated the students. He think The most important thing for a nation is culture, and language is the bridge between cultures. In today's society, Chinese is becoming a global language, so it is very important and necessary for Kenyan government officials to learn Chinese well.

In the end, the guests issued the certificates to diplomats.

With the deepening of China - Africa cooperation and the improvement of mutual political trust between China and Kenya, learning Chinese has become one of the most needed project courses for Kenyan government departments. Confucius institute of Nairobi university has successfully conducted successful Chinese language training courses for Kenya immigration service, taxation bureau, airport authority and other departments. In the future, the Confucius institute of the university of Nairobi will continue its efforts to contribute to promoting in-depth understanding and cooperation between the two countries.
