Opening Up Innovation and Looking Forward to the Future ---- The Pilot Teaching Work Explanation Session between the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi and the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development(KICD)

On March 2nd, the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (hereinafter referred to as KICD) held a significant work explanation session with the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi. On the basis of survey more than one year, KICD screened 16 local schools as pilot schools for Chinese teaching, explained the work contents to the excellent Chinese major graduates of CIUON, to recruit part-time teachers of Chinese language teaching.

    The meeting was attended by: Millicent and Grace, the representatives of KICD, the director of Confucius Institute, Xiao Shan, more than ten Chinese major graduates and some teachers in the Institute.

    The local teacher Xu Jing presided at this meeting. The representative of KICD, Millicent, made a note of the introduction of Chinese into the curriculum system of primary and secondary schools in Kenya. She said: "The introduction of Chinese into the primary and secondary school curriculum system will provide more possibilities for children's future."

    The purpose of the conference is to prepare Chinese for the curriculum system of primary and secondary schools in Kenya, and ultimately to incorporate Chinese learning into the language system of basic education in Kenya.

   The meeting has been successfully concluded. It's a great step for Chinese promotion to take the Chinese language into the curriculum plan of Kenya's primary and secondary school curriculum. The Faculty of the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi will redouble its efforts to keep mission in mind and make the Chinese blooming all over Kenya.
