Dear friends,

“Welcome to the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi! As director of the institute, I am pleased to have you as students of our Chinese programs and members of our multicultural team. Year after year, we have had students who are eager to come back and join us again after having been with us for some time and then left the institute. That’s because we do things differently here at CIUON.  "When you walk into our institute, you receive the attention you deserve. Unlike other language centers, we make great efforts to meet your needs by providing you with the support you need to improve your language skills at your own pace. Our teachers are elaborately selected professionals who take joy in teaching and have proven their +expertise and dedication to our students time and time again. In this light, I wish you a smooth transition as you learn to master the Chinese language that you have always wanted to speak!  “Over the past few years, the Institute has multiplied its efforts to offer quality training courses, Diploma and Bachelor Degree programs. Thus, it has continued to progress and to extend its influence while reinforcing its relations with its partners.  “The Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi is the first institution of its kind ever established in Africa. It has been awarded the title of “the Excellent Confucius Institute” for six times consecutively by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (HANBAN). I would like to express the pride I feel as director of the Institute. I would also like to express my determination to change the Institute for the better, with more financial support and help from China, for the benefit of the University and the students of Confucius Institute.  “I wish to underline the engagement and the remarkable work that the Institute’s staff is carrying out with great professionalism and devotion. I also wish to thank the Vice-Chancellor, University Management Board and the Senate for their guidance and support, which have allowed us to take up new challenges in a very valuable area.”
