Dear friends,

“Welcome to the Confucius Institute at University of Nairobi! As director of the institute, I am pleased to have you as a student of our Chinese programs and a part of our multi-cultural student body. Year after year, I witness that satisfied students leave Confucius Institute wanting to come back after experiencing it with us.  That’s because we do things differently here at CIUON.

"When you walk into our institute, you receive the attention you deserve. Unlike other language centers, we actually tune into your needs and provide you with the support you need to improve your language skills at your own pace. Our teachers are hand-picked; they take joy in teaching and have proven their dedication to our students time and time again. In this light, I wish you a smooth transition as you learn to master Chinese language that you have always wanted to speak!

“Over the past few years, the Institute has multiplied its efforts to offer quality training courses, Diploma and Bachelor Degree programs. Thus, it has continued to progress and to extend its influence while reinforcing its relations with the partners.

“The Confucius Institute at University of Nairobi is the first institution of this kind ever established in Africa. It has been awarded the title of “the Excellent Confucius Institute” for six times consecutively by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (HANBAN). I would like to express the pride I feel in my position as director of the Institute. I would also like to express my will to make the institute progress, with more financial support and help from China, to the benefit of the University and the students of Confucius Institute.

“I wish to underline the engagement and the remarkable work that the Institute’s staff is carrying out with great professionalism and devotion. I also wish to thank the Vice-Chancellor, University Management Board and the Senate for their guidance, support and allowing us to take up new challenges in a very valuable area.”
