Friday, July 08, 2016 Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi ushered in an particular corner of Chinese, because the Chinese Corner was presented by local teachers. For local students, Chinese volunteer teachers, this is a very good chance to do teaching learning.

LU Kai teacher was educated by Nairobi University and Tianjin Normal University. With time as the clue teacher Lu From the beginning of the Qin Dynasty, introduced some of the important dynasties in Chinese history, the first feudal dynast to rule of China –Qin Dynast、the first Silk Road 、the most richest and most powerful dynast—Tang Dynast?、the seven voyages to the Western Seas、the end of feudal society---Qing Dynast. And also the modern period China. So all students have a basic understanding of China's long history, and also aware of the suffering of the modern China.

Then we divided into two groups, discussions on the theme of the Chinese corner. The first group focuses on Confucius and his ideology. From "ren" to self-cultivation, to teaching with no one left behind. Also focused on” Learning without thought is labor lost, thought without learning is perilous” and “From any three people walking, I will find something to learn for sure.” Another group is started to explore various historical periods of particular events, and food.

After all, his is not Chinese, some knowledge of history is not very clear. But proficient native language, so for him the Chinese corner was easier to control. This gives our Chinese volunteer teachers a reminder: The level we reached at second language, will affect our students learning. Yes, we teaching! we learning!  lecture and discussions combination, So that students not only receive the knowledge, but also to express, and at the same time to improve Chinese cultural knowledge and the language ability.
