University of Nairobi Staff Visited China

    On 18th October, the twelve staff from University of Nairobi, ministry of education officials, immigration officers and curriculum reform committee officers supported by Hanban arrived at Beijing.

    They stayed in China for 10 days, visited Beijing and Tianjin. Beijing was their first stop. They visited the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Bird's Nest, Water Cube and Hanban, they also enjoyed Chinese dishes like roast duck, hot pot and dumplings.

    After the visit in Beijing, they went to Tianjin Normal University. Tianjin Normal University is in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi. During their stay in Tianjin, they visited Tianjin Museum, Ancient Culture Street, Yangliuqing Museum and the new campus of Tianjin Normal University. Besides, they had courses like comprehensive Chinese, cultural profile and culture experience. At last, they had a meeting with the Kenyan students who were studying in Tianjin Normal University supported by Hanban.

    The visit to China is very successful. The all the members who visited China speak highly of the Chinese government, and appreciate the support from Hanban and Tianjin Normal University. They say that they will go on supporting the work of Confucius Institute and the development of Chinese popularization to widen and deepen the communication and cooperation between China and Kenya.
