Waridi School celebrated the open day on 3rd November 2016. Wang Zhongyu, a Chinese teacher volunteer at the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi teaching Chinese at Waridi Elementary School, led the students in the Chinese class to perform singing a Chinese song, which was warmly received by parents and teachers.
The Waridi School, as a partner of Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi, has been offering Mandarin courses for many years, providing students with the opportunity to learn Chinese language from an early age, to lay a good foundation for Chinese. During the opening day, students from Waridi School, taught parents and other students in the audience to say "Hello" in Chinese and "Thank you" at the end of the performance. Parents were very excited to hear their children speaking Chinese and actively tried to respond to children's greetings in Chinese, filled with hope and expectations.
Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi sincerely congratulated Waridi School on its successful performance and sincerely hoped that Waridi School would flourish and flourish. Hopefully, more children would like to learn Chinese and contribute to the friendly exchanges between Kenya and China.
