Wang Yang, Chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference expresses best regards to teachers and students of Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi

At the invitation of Moutouri, Speaker of the Kenyan National Assembly, Wang Yang ,Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference pays an official goodwill visit to Kenya.The choir of Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi was invited to sing Chinese songs for Chairman Wang Yang.

The choir sang Chinese songs in high spirits and received applause from the audience.After the dinner, Chairman Wang Yang, Speaker Moutouri and other leaders expressed their cordial appreciation for the performance to the choir of Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi. Chairman Wang acknowledged the work done by the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi in the international education of Chinese and the dissemination of Chinese culture, as well as the achievements made in promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries. He hopes the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi will continue its efforts.Finally, at the invitation of the choir, chairman Wang sang the national anthem of the People's Republic of China with everyone.Xia Baolong, vice-chairman and Secretary-General of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the ceremony.

 Chairman Wang Yang delivered a passionate speech,in which he says that the cooperation between China and Kenya is getting better and better and has become a model for China-Africa cooperation.He hopes that the collaboration between China and Kenya can continue and become an excellent model for China-Africa cooperation.This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kenya,which means that relations between China and Kenya has entered a " deepening era". Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi should give full play to its role in promoting the cultural exchange between China and Kenya and make contributions to consolidating the friendly public opinion and social foundation.

  Since it was established in 2005,Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi has won the title of " advanced Confucius Institute" for six times in a row. It won the " Confucius Institute founding award" in 2014 and was named " Global Model Confucius Institute" in 2015. Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi has achieved remarkable results in training local Chinese teachers, fostering student models, developing Chinese courses, promoting Chinese as an optional foreign language course for primary and secondary schools in Kenya, and setting up students’ interest clubs. Many outstanding graduates have joined the efforts in Kenya's modernization. They are writing a new chapter in the " the belt and road initiative" era and have become participants and promoters of the construction of Kenyan.
