I. Introduction
Tianjin Normal University (hereinafter, “TNU”),a key comprehensive university founded in 1958, is the only normal university focusing on high-quality teachers’ fundamental education in Tianjin. The main campus covers a land area of 2,333,333㎡, including 514,000 ㎡of natural lakes and wetlands, and a building area of 860,000 ㎡. TNU campus possesses unique charm and ecological environment. Both our main campus and Balitai campus are located along the subway, with convenient transportation and adequate life service facilities.
TNU is rich in teaching facilities and culture deposits. It now has 2 faculties and 20 colleges, offers 72 undergraduate programs, 8 doctorate programs of first-level disciplines, 1 professional doctoral degree program for education, 33 master programs of first-level disciplines, and 16 professional master’s degree programs, including 9 academic disciplines of economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management and art.
TNU maintains openness in education. It has established cooperative ties with 177 famous universities, institutes and regional governments from 33 countries. Authorized by Chinese Ministry of Education, TNU is one of the first “demonstration base schools (a model example of a university that excels in international education)”, for international students’ study in China. Running four Confucius Institutes overseas, TNU has been awarded “Confucius Institute of the Year” for 10 times, achieved one highest honor in “Confucius Institute Foundation Award”, and rated as “Advanced Confucius Institutes’ Organizer” and “Model Confucius Institute”. TNU has more than 50 years of history in international students’ recruitment and education, accumulates rich experience in teaching management, and enjoys high prestige in international students’ education.
As a Host Institution, TNU accepts international students funded by Chinese Government Scholarship, International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship and Tianjin Government Scholarship.
