Application Guide for Chinese University Graduate Student & The Silk Road Program of Chinese Government Scholarship at TNU in 2021
In order to give a full play to the incentive effect of Chinese Government Scholarships, develop great efforts to cultivate talents in different fields along the “One Belt and One Road” countries, Tianjin Normal University encourages outstanding international students to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship in “Chinese University Graduate Student” and “The Silk Road” program. The application procedure is as follows:

IV Eligibility
1.Non-Chinese citizenship, and in good health.
2.Requirements for applicants’ degree and age:
(1)Applicant for bachelor’s programs should be a high school diploma holder under the age of 25;
(2) Applicant for the master’s programs should be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35;
(3) Applicant for the doctor’s programs should be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40.
3.Applicants for bachelor’s degree shall reach Level 4 or above on HSK test; applicants for master or doctor’s degree shall reach Level 5 or above on HSK test.
V Application Procedure
Step 1-Log into our international student service system: http://tnu.at0086.cn/student to complete the pre-registration information. Once get approved, we will contact and guide you to submit application information to the system.
Applicants should choose Chinese University Graduate Student & The Silk Road Program of Chinese Government Scholarships for scholarship category.
Step 2 -Log into Chinese Government Scholarship Information System: https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/ or http://www.campuschina.org, and click: “Application Online” to fill in the application information, submit and print the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarships.
VI Application Materials
1.Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (written in Chinese or English);
2.The scanned copy of Passport home page；
The scanned copy of the first page of the ordinary passport must be clear and valid after March 1, 2022. If the validity date of the current passport does not meet the requirements, please renew the passport in time. If the passport cannot be issued prior to the submission of the application for any objective reason, applicants are required to submit valid certificates or supporting documents with the permission of the dispatching institution. The documents must contain the applicants' English name, Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth, and other information.
3.Notarized highest diploma;
Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
4.Academic transcripts (written in Chinese or English);
Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
5.Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English);
A minimum of 500 word for undergraduate students, and 800 words for graduate students.
6.Two Recommendation Letters (written in Chinese or English);
Applicants for Master's or Doctor's Degree should submit two recommendation letters signed by two professors or associate professors.
7.Photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form in English;
The original copy will be kept by yourself and the form is printed by Chinese healthy quarantine departments. It must be written in English and can be downloaded from the our Office of International Programs at http://gjjl.tjnu.edu.cn/info/1122/5034.htm. Applicants should follow all required items in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.
8.Valid documents of your legal guardians in China (only required for applicants under the age of 18);
9.Non-criminal Record Report；
Applicant shall submit a non-criminal record report issued by the local public security authority, which shall be valid within 6 months before the date of application.
10. Photocopy of valid HSK Certificate (Upload to the required website).
VII Scholarship Confirmation
1.Universities are responsible for reviewing application documents and nominating candidates.
2.Nominated candidates will be granted Chinese Government Scholarship to study in China once gets approvel by China Scholarship Council (CSC).
3.Applicants who get admitted by multiple universities will be granted no more than one scholarship. CSC has the right to reserve one scholarship for one host university.
4.CSC will send back the Admission List, Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to Tianjin Normal University, and TNU will send these documents to scholarship recipients.
5.Scholarship recipients shall not change the host institution, major, or duration of study once confirmed and registered.
6. Scholarship will not be retained if recipients fail to register on time.
7.Matters are not covered above should be subjected to the requirements of relevant competent authorities.
