On the morning of February 26, 2023, the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education" kicked off in the lecture hall of the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi. In order to promote the understanding of the Chinese proficiency grading standards in Africa, the University of Nairobi in Kenya was mandated by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation in China to organize an online workshop. More than 100 people participated in the event online and offline. Wang Shangxue, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi, said in her opening speech that the training of local Chinese teachers should be used as a long-term mechanism through the platform of the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi to demonstrate the research and teaching achievements of local teachers and improve their teaching level.
