On August 11, children of Kalya Academy, faces full of smiles, visited the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi to experience Chinese cultural activities that included: Chinese calligraphy, printing, chopsticks challenge, Chinese dance, Chinese kung fu, and tasting of Chinese food
On the 17th of July, a delegation of key stakeholders in the education sector from Kenya visited the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation in China, courtesy of the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi. Among the issues discussed during the visit were the promotion of Chinese language teaching and learning in Kenya, the establishment of a Chinese language teacher training programme at the University of Nairobi, the development and promotion of a globally recognised curriculum, the provision of scholarships and the support of learning resources.
On the morning of February 26, 2023, the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education" kicked off in the lecture hall of the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi. In order to promote the understanding of the Chinese proficiency grading standards in Africa, the University of Nairobi in Kenya was mandated by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation in China to organize an online workshop. More than 100 people participated in the event online and offline.
