On September 8th, The Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi held the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration at the UoN towers 7th floor, actively joined in by CIUON staff, and students. The participants made Mooncakes together with the guidance of a local professional baker. To compliment the mooncakes, participants took part in a tea ceremony with the guidance of local volunteer teachers, and in the afternoon, the participants experienced the Chinese painting guided by the famous artist Ma Qun.
On July 28th , the 2022 Maryhill Girls' High School Chinese Club opened its Chinese language course. The students welcomed Peter, a native Chinese teacher CIUON, Antony, the course lecturer, and Michelle, the intern teacher with unprecedented enthusiasm.
On July 26, the opening ceremony of 2022 Chinese Language Training Program for the Officers of the Directorate of Immigration Services was successfully held in the lecture hall at the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi new center. On July 25th , CIUON organized a group of 18 teachers and students to visit Keda Ceramics (Kenya) Co., LTD., an outstanding Chinese enterprise in Kenya. The visit was led by Wang Shangxue, Chinese Director at CIUON together with Mr. Johnson Kinyua, Director of Career Service at the University of Nairobi. They were warmly received by the management and staff of Keda Ceramics.
