Who can apply for the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship?

All applicants shall be: 

a) non-Chinese citizens; 

b) in good physical and mental conditions, and with good academic performance and conduct;

c) committed to the Chinese language education and related work; 

d) between the ages of 16 and 35 (as of September 1st, 2021). Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall not be over 45, while undergraduate student applicants shall not be over 25.

大寒是中国传统二十四节气（the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms）中的第二十四个节气，也是农历年中的最后一个节气。和小寒Minor Cold对应，大寒的英语表达为Major Cold。

此时，窗外已是千里冰封，万里雪飘，而屋内人们则开始热火朝天地备年货，洒扫除尘，团圆的喜气为寒冷的冬天增添了不少暖意。

这一时期，雨雪冰冻天气极大地影响了人们的生活。

此时，窗外的树枝变得光秃秃的，只余冷风在诉说天地间的萧瑟。走在路上，手都冻得通红，空气中隐约可见呼出的白气。俗话说：小寒大寒，冻成冰团。一年中最为寒冷的时节已经到了。

During Minor Cold, most areas in China have entered the bitter cold stage of winter. The ground and rivers are frozen. The cold air from the north moves southward continuously.

On the afternoon of December 18th, 2020 local time in Kenya, the launching ceremony of the Model Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi was grandly held on the main campus of the University of Nairobi.

On December 6, local time in Kenya, the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi successfully held the HSK offline exam. It is the first offline Chinese proficiency exam (hereinafter referred to as HSK test since the quarantine in March 2020. This HSK exam was conducted at main campus of the University of Nairobi.

霜降是中国传统二十四节气（the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms）中的第十八个节气，英文表达为Frost's Descent。霜降期间，气候由凉向寒过渡，所以霜降的来临意味着“寒秋”的开始。

Frost's Descent is the last solar term of autumn, during which time the weather becomes much colder than before and frost begins to appear.

霜降是秋季的最后一个节气，在此期间，天气相较之前会冷得多，寒霜开始出现了。

地面上的水汽遇冷凝结成白色冰晶，这就是所说的“霜”（frost）。这段时间里，植物慢慢失去生机，大地变得萧条，所以民间有“霜降杀百草”的说法。

古代典籍里有这样一句话：“九月节，露气寒冷，将凝结也”，这句话描述的是寒露节气的特点，意思是这段时间产生的露水因天气寒凉，快凝结成霜了。

The dew is bigger and colder and there will be less rain. Autumn crops will be ripe.

寒露期间，露珠愈发大且寒凉。降水减少，秋作物趋于成熟。

The Chinese name of the girl in the video is Zhang Meiling. She is a student of the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi, and also the leader of CIUON Choir. She has been to China for exchange and study many times, and loves singing Chinese songs very much. 

Meiling is one of the most outstanding students of CIUON.
